Looking Beneath the Surface of Suffering
Are you willing to look beneath the surface of your suffering?
The lasting peace and transformation that most of us seek begins with awareness. We often turn a blind eye to the deeper layers of our experience that are at the root of our suffering. Instead, we focus our attention outward and blame the situation, the circumstances, the people, or the world for how we feel inside, believing that to end our suffering, we must change our external environment.
But what happens when instead of focusing our attention outward, we begin to turn our attention inward to our experience of the moment?
What I find true time and time again in my own experience is that the suffering is rarely what it seems to be on the surface. And when I drop the stories and fully allow myself to meet my experience of the moment, those deeper layers begin to reveal themselves so they can be seen, felt, and integrated.
